However, difference in the speed of the gamer and game server could lead to a very annoying experience on the gamer’s end. For example, if the game server has a faster broad band or ISDN connection and gamer is using a modem connection then it will result in a lag in speed and data transfer. This makes game virtually unplayable, leading to a very unpleasant gaming experience.

Another major issue is to maintain quality and integrity of the online gaming. Most gaming softwares have vulnerabilities. You can always find people trying to take benefits of these weak points to win. For example, they make themselves see through barriers or make themselves invincible. Some games have anti cheat software available for them. Some other games will either have in built anti cheat codes and some will also allow you to install anti cheat programs if you want later on.

There will also be people who will intentionally behave against rules.
